Renown thanks to their stunning luxury residential and commercial projects all over the UK and overseas, Fiona Barratt Interiors’ success is born from all the dedication and experience of a creative, talented team who create strong laces with their clients during all the creative process.
BIOGRAPHY
Fiona – the eldest of three children – grew up in the North of Englan and studied fine art at Chelsea College of Art in London but changed her major to interior spatial design to follow her real passion. She also spent one year at Parsons School of Design in New York.
In the beginning of her inspiring career as an interior designer, Fiona Barratt-Campbell was head designer at Kelly Hoppen Interiors. In 2006, at the age 25, Fiona launched Fiona Barrat Interiors, with her first project was in the complete refurbishment of a ski chalet in the Swiss Alps’ Verbier for Richard Branson, a business tycoon.
THE LIMITED EDITION COLLECTION AND SHOWROOM IN LONDON
In 2014, during the London Design Festival and one year after launching the eponymous furniture brand FBC London, Fiona Barratt-Campbell introduced the first limited edition furniture collection – FBC London Privé – as well as the new studio and showroom space in London’s Vitoria.
After the opening of FBC London’s Pimlico in 2013, the Victoria space brought the second retail outpost and flagship, offering a larger gallery-style space in a former post office building. The FBC London’s Victoria interior is an eclectic mixture of luxurious materials, tactile finishes, and feature lighting.
The limited edition pieces have all the hallmarks of Barratt-Campbell’s textural, unique design style. The FBC London Privé Collection was the “Armour Chairs” and the glossy oak “City Cabinet”.
Completing the showcase was the stunning cast bronze valet, designed in collaboration with Alexander McQueen, which was unveiled last earlier in Salone del Mobile 2014 as part of the Wallpaper* Magazine handmade exhibition.
One year after the launch the collection has grown significantly, and now includes a large variety of designer pieces, from lighting to beds and bedside tables, to mirrors and accessories. Fiona’s designs “are born of a passion to create pieces inspired by history and the natural world”, says the UK top interior designer.
TALENT AND DETERMINATION IS A HERITAGE – OR MAYBE NOT
Fiona Barrat-Campbell is a granddaughter of property developer Sir Lawrie Barratt, founder of Barratt Homes, one of the largest housebuilders in the United Kingdom.
Lawrie Barrat-Campbell was Fiona’s deep inspiration and her mentor, as Fionna said one time in an interview: “All my interest in property, architecture and interiors began with him.”
Fiona’s grandfather have left school at age 14 and trained as an accountant at night. “Frustrated at not being able to afford a house, he decided to build one for his young family, teaching himself the necessary skills.” – tells the Introspective Magazine.
The success of this enormous risk inspired him to create a company, idea that results into Sir Lawrie’s fortune and knighthood.
Fiona soon followed in the footsteps of her entrepreneurial family, having ended her time at Hoppen’s studio she set up her own firm, and won her first notable commission – the Richard Branson’s Swiss chalet refurbishment.
