Lilla Soffbutiken was founded in 1991 in Gothenburg by the Hagberg family – a family with a long experience in the interior design industry and which then focused on American sofas and interior design. In 1993, another store was opened on Sibyllegatan in Stockholm and in 1997 also a new store in Malmö. Over the years, Lilla Soffbutiken has changed to adapt the concept to the present. Today, their physical store at Linneplatsen is twice as large and our e-commerce has a focus on selling furniture & furnishings that they believe are adapted for the web.

Norrgavel was started in 1991 by Nirvan Richter, an architect from KTH and trained in carpentry at Carl Malmstenskolan. His interest in furniture and furniture makers was aroused early on and as a newly graduated architect in the 80’s he soon realized that he wanted to learn more about furniture, carpentry and the art of creating good home environments. He then created a furnishing empire that, till this day, features amongs Sweden’s top stores and brands.
