Ever since she was little, aesthetics and design have always played an important part in Inés Benavides’s life! Her family has always had artistic interest and from a young age, the visits to museums and art galleries were usual, becoming the space where she discovered her passion for aesthetics.
It was in 2002 that Inés Benavides finally decided to pursue her true passion and founded an interior design studio. In the beginning, she started designing and selling furniture, which was difficult because nobody knew who she was or her work. After a few years, she, at last, had a name as a furniture designer, and that gave her a real opportunity to start as an interior designer.
Inés Benavides’s first-ever project was her own house, which was perfect to showcase her abilities to potential clients. Her interior design style is eclectic, cosmopolitan, cheerful, and modern. She loves modern designs but, in her projects, she also includes antic pieces that add a special touch. Inés Benavides’s signature style is a mix of modern and antic.

For Inés Benavides, design has been a hobby ever since she was a kid, it’s both her way of living and her passion. She can’t imagine her life without design. Her inspiration comes from everything she sees around her, like travels, museums, a beautiful space, etc.
That’s why Inés Benavides’s best achievement has been being able to make a living off of her biggest passion: design. ‘When you really love what you do you become really good at it, and, of course, you have a lot of fun.’ said the designer!
Inés Benavides’ favorite project, in terms of a furniture piece, is the CUBB, a piece that can be used as a table or stool and, in terms of interior design projects, she says that it’s going to be the last one because she puts so much energy, work, and enthusiasm in her projects that they become her little babies.

For Inés Benavides, the most frustrating aspect of her job as a designer is that, sometimes, it’s necessary to be patient to see the final result. On the other hand, the most rewarding moment is when the clients see their homes for the first time and they feel really happy with the final result and very grateful to the team that made it happen.
What makes Inés Benavides feel fulfilled professionally is when her projects are finished and she sees that her clients are truly happy about the result and very comfortable in the spaces created.
Also, one unusual thing that happened in Inés Benavides’ career was that she became very close with some of her clients because through their house she entered into their lives. ‘When you enter in someone else’s family, there are often in unusual situations.’ said the designer.

At the moment, Inés Benavides is working on her own country house. She is really excited as she’s doing something completely different than her usual projects. Her inspiration for this project comes from an African Lodge.
In the future, we can expect to see Inés Benavides working on a line of bronze furniture with a sculptor.
The dream that Inés Benavides has for the future of the design world is that the designers become more authentic. ‘They should be more concerned with their character than their reputation because the character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are.’ defended the interior designer.
