Matthew has participated in five Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club Decorator Showhouses, as well as showhouses in Greenwich, Nantucket, Southampton and Southport. He was selected by Hearst Media Group to design Elle Decor Magazine’s first “Designer Visions” apartment in Tribeca. For “Project Design” at the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island, Matthew designed and renovated the NY Mets TV Room.

Matthew Smyth has branched out into product design. Patterson Flynn Martin produces two Matthew Patrick Smyth carpet collections. A Matthew Smyth line of fabrics was introduced by F. Schumacher and a line of wallcovering designs soon followed. Savoir Beds of London commissioned Matthew to design a bed for their collection.
Awards include: 2012 Alpha Workshop Award, 2011 Stars of Design Award, Elle Décor’s Top 25 A List. Matthew Smyth has been consistently listed as one of the top designers in House Beautiful, Traditional Home, New York Magazine, New York Spaces, Elements of Living, and Gotham Magazine.

After working with David Easton for six years Matthew Smyth started his own firm in 1988. Matthew studied interior design at the Fashion Institute of Technology. His book, Living Traditions: Interiors by Matthew Patrick Smyth by Monacelli Press is now in its second printing.
