Famous design studio Tandem was hired by the famous Marriot Group to create a stunning space for the Jade Restaurant, an Asian themed high-end restaurant that’s located in one of the most luxurious hotels in the world, the JW Marriott. Today, Best Interior Designers would like to show you this amazing project!
Tandem Design is known for creating world-class visitor and brand experiences. The subjects are fascinating and varied – from Titanic to Seamus Heaney. They use smart, beautiful design with diligent research, writing and planning to tell stories that inspire and entertain. Tandem Design are known for designing in every scale from a tiny reading space that only children can access, to creating larger-than-life figurative statues that tower over visitors at an ancient heritage site.
All in all, Tandem Design specializes in liveable interiors that push creative boundaries. This project, Jade Asian restaurant, is no different. Although it is a restaurant, guests could easily feel at home. The decor is stunning, modern and powerful. It has a clear Asian vibe where we highlight the amazing Asian inspired status, but also the incredible HORUS suspension light by BRABBU, a grand chandelier that gives the ambience a special touch and brightness, helping in the creation of the “home feeling”.
The Asian inspired dining space is defined by drama and sophistication. Upon approach to the transformative restaurant the guest is immediately greeted by two large Chinese Guardian Lions, or Foo Dogs. These large statues are known to be protectors of negative energy, the precise art piece to incorporate before a guest enters the soothing Jade restaurant.

Some touches of traditional Asian design are possible to find on the wooden facade, slats of perimetral wood and sliding doors in scale. While mimicking its ancestral design, the slats take on a modern approach with the integration of lighting to add to the verticality of the space as well as creating an added layer of spectacle to the facade.
When the guest enters the space, they are greeted with low lights and dark walls to create a mood of tranquility and calm. The interiors are designed with clean, contemporary walls with added layers of texture to give the space depth and visual interest. The light fixtures are sleek and over-scaled which add another element of character to the modern design. One of those light fixtures is the HORUS suspension light by BRABBU, that gives this ambiance a golden touch. Embracing the Asian style, the chandelier perfectly fits the dining area, creating a more sophisticated and classic design.
Just like the God of the sky and the rising sun, HORUS Suspension Light promises to be a reference in modern interior design. Featuring a structure in matte black lacquered brass and shades in matte brass, this chandelier is perfect for creating a grand reveal.
