Career
How did you get involved in the interior design Industry?
I got my first job in my sophomore year in university. I took part in a joint project to be made in Turkmenistan, by designing a two-block building with a shopping center underneath.
How would you describe your work style? Do you have any kind of signatures that help to identify your projects?
First of all, I always went to see the place, then I listen to my customer’s requests. From that point, I think a concept for that place. Then I determine the interior design style according to that concept. During the design stages, I present the project to my customer with 3D support. I always try to use materials such as wood and marble in my projects.

Being in love with our work is always the key to achieving better results. Are you in love with this job? What do you love most about being an interior designer?
Since the day I start my career, my love has continued to increase. Even in my daily life, I cannot stop thinking; While walking on the street, drinking coffee somewhere, I find myself design-thinking. The best part of being an interior designer is that seeing people live in a place you design; chatting, socializing, and spending time in that place with pleasure. It’s like a painting to me, a live painting.
What is your philosophy on design and life?
In my opinion; design must be functional, holistic, and timeless before aesthetics.
Simplicity and quality are always at the forefront of my life philosophy. My social circle is quite wide and I like to bring my friends together, just as I bring everything together in my design.
Inspiration
Keeping up to date on all the trends is essential for anyone who wants to conquer this market. In what ways do you keep current with new trends?
Trends are important. However, when we design according to that space rather than trends in design, you cannot always use trending products-materials. Instead, I prefer to make the space a trend on its own with our custom-made products.

How would you describe your personal decorating style?
I have a minimal, modern, and timeless style.
All artists need some inspiration to work, and interior designers are artists too. So, what or who really inspires you?
I like designers like Mimar Sinan, Gaudi, Calatrava. As looking for inspiration in my daily life everything around me can inspire me.
Inspiration is something that pushes everyone to create unique things. What makes you see the world in a different way?
My ability to question everything. The more I question, the better I learned.
If you had to pick one project around the world that you wish it was made by you, which one would it be?
I wish I had built the pyramids.

Projects
How important is a perfect chemistry between you and your clients to achieve the best results?
It’s okay to disagree with each other, but of course, it’s important to a certain extent. Being opposite can sometimes be more beneficial than unity in finding the true perspective.
Choosing the best pieces to compose a project can be the secret to getting the best overall result. Although it seems easy, this is a delicate task and needs full attention on time to execute. Do you have some tips for those who do not know well how to start a challenge like this?
If the client is unsure of the material selection, as the designer, I have to offer the client a few alternatives.

Do you think working with teams in interior design is better or worse than working alone? Why?
I think some projects require working alone, while others require working with a team. Sometimes the work you do alone can be more accurate and faster, and sometimes you can get better results when you work with a team. This situation varies according to the project and the delivery time.
Future
Is there anything exciting that you are working on at the moment that you can tell us about?
We are currently doing projects that improve the social facilities in Istanbul Pelican Hill mansions. We are redesigning common areas including a restaurant, ballroom, studio areas, and a sports bar. This process has been going very pleasantly for us. In these places, which can only be used by people living in that area, it is necessary to focus on the general customer profile living in that region. We measure this expectation by observing the fine details. However, we like this difficulty.

What has been your greatest accomplishment as a designer? What goals do you have for the future?
Every job I do is a great success for me, but my greatest achievement is to start this profession.
In the future, we want to have an office in Moscow and San Diego. In addition, we are currently establishing a new brand on restaurant design.
Do you have a favorite project or a favorite story about one of your projects?
Biget Steak&Co, for which I received the A’Design Award, is one of my favorite projects. Even after 5 years, this restaurant is still a very popular place.
