As the end of Clerkenwell Design Week approaches, it’s time to check on some other worth seeing brands and designers – and there’s still time to go over there and see it for yourself or just to enjoy a nice drink while being inspired!
I selected some names that left their mark at this years’ CDW:
The exquisite and luxurious furniture design company from Portugal keeps surprising and offering visual and emotional experiences. Here is Marco Costa, Head Designer at Boca do Lobo.
Beautiful design, highly skilled craftsmanship and a passion for distinction and creativity. All the products are manufactured with the best materials, usually in limited editions, and with customization options, to better fit the clients’ needs.
Foscarini is already a reference in contemporary and modern lighting design, despite being a young brand.
Founded at the beginning of the 80′ by designers Carlo Urbinati and Alessandro Vechiatto, Foscarini always goes after new and innovative designs, researching and creating partnerships with big design names and also young international designers.
This young designer from Vienna works in a combination between art and design, exploring new materials and technologies, using his scientific background and a very personal perspective on form.
Phillipp uses traditional techniques but implementing modern technologies like 3D laser scanning, CNC milling or Rapid Prototyping, thus creating a new kind of expression, inspired by art, nature and science. The funcionality is a great concern, so the process includes deep research on materials, form and the creation of a milled 3D model, which is included into the final product.
This lighting brand creates unique pieces that are quite “retro futuristic”, combining inspirations from the 60’s and 70’s, with modern lines and clean design. Their attention to detail and the top quality handcrafting make for incredible lamps, for any kind of space.
One thing that you can always expect from a Delightfull lamp is groove and a musical ambience. They recently added a new colection to their portfolio: Graphic Collection.
If you’re nearby, enjoy this last day of Clerkenwell Design Week 😉
