Richmond International’s aim is to provide a more environmentally responsible design service that will contribute to the sustainability of hotels now and into the future. They understand that hotels internationally are increasingly under pressure to minimise their impact on the world’s resources both environmentally and socially and interior design has an important role to contribute. They are committed to minimising the environmental impact of our business operations.
IN THEIR DESIGN ACTIVITIES WE ENDEAVOUR TO:
Promote the design principles of ‘long life’ and ‘sustainability’;
Ensure compliance with latest relevant environmental legislation;
Give consideration to environmental issues and suitable local sourcing when specifying materials and products;
Consider site-specific concerns and ensure local environmental issues are respected;
Collaborate closely and fully with clients and professionals to ensure the environmental brief of the project is met or exceeded;
Measure and review the quality of our work and its impact on the environment.
IN THEIR WORKING ENVIRONMENT WE ENDEAVOUR TO:
Manage waste generated from business operations in accordance to the principle of reduce, re-use and recycle;
Strive to select equipment which has a lower energy running cost and environmental impact;
Enforce energy efficient running operations e.g. turning off equipment when not in use etc.;
Minimize the effects of essential but potentially hazardous materials;
Carry out regular Health and Safety inspections;
Maintain their internal environmental and sustainability product database;
Expand and develop our skills and knowledge through training and professional expertise.
