Clifton Leung was born in Hong Kong and raised in Canada. He has an interior design degree from Toronto’s renowned Ryerson University. Due to his reputation, he is one of Kong’s most prolific interior designers and his works have been frequently profiled in various local and regional publications. Clifton created the Clifton Leung Design Workshop in 1997. Combining design concepts of practicality and minimalism, many of its projects turn out to be the territory’s most successful residential and business models.
He has created over 150 of the most prestigious home interiors in Hong Kong, including Beverly Villas, Convention Plaza, Dynasty Court, Red Hill Peninsula, Repulse Bay Garden, Residence Bel-Air, Robinson Place, The Arch, The Harbourside, Tregunter Tower, Valverde and others. Within these creations she chose 24 and presented them in his published book “From Minimalism to Maximization: Interior Design Lifestyle by Clifton Leung”.
Red Hill Peninsula apartment, for example, could have just been a boring white-walled interior space but thanks to Clifton Leung Design Workshop, the residence is a visually-driven mix of colorfully quirky and minimally calm. The walls remain white but beautiful pieces in striking colors are thoughtfully placed throughout the apartment, creating the perfect design balance.
Clifton is known for his innovative use of space by using materials in simple colors and textures wisely without ignorance of practical functions. He is able to understand his client’s character and practical needs, which facilitates him to create spaces with personality and designs that touch people’s hearts.
The Clifton’s award-winning practice has helped the image shape and branding of many of the city’s leading international and local brands, successfully transforming the retail spaces into an exceptional customer experience. For example, 1O1O Flagship Store (Hong Kong) and Goelia Headquarter (China) won the Five Star Awards in the Asia Pacific Property Awards 2012-2013. 1O1O project is also named the winner of the Asia Pacific region in the retail category. A luxurious collection of these retail interiors are showcased in Clifton’s second published book titled “Inside Out- Celebrating 15 years of Retail Design by Clifton Leung”.
