Bearandbunny is an energetic Amsterdam-based design studio working for acclaimed global and national brands. Its diverse output ranges from international retail concepts to private interiors and from a design hotel concept to the look and feel of a new restaurant, including not only the interior but also the graphic and identity – up to the actual dishes that dot the menu.
They can be credited with a fair bit of storytelling and a chameleon-like attitude, the result from its ability to take on a brand’s DNA and translate it into an arresting, meaningful and functional environment. Yet the various spaces bearing their signature hold similar qualities: bold but never mundane, peculiar yet refined and foremost fitting the specific identity of their clients. The studio attaches great importance to personal contact with its clients and prospects.
Clients include: Nike, De Bijenkorf, Supertrash, Supertrash Girls, Lego, Tommy Hilfiger, Iittala, Men at Work, Mexx, Akzo Nobel, CoolCat, America Today, MS Mode, Grand Cafe Usine, Protest, Dept, JC Rags, Carhartt, Ulla Models, Achtung
Bearandbunny is Carlijn Kriekaard and John Maatman. With a shared academic training in design (both graduated cum laude at Design Academy Eindhoven, NL) and a vocational background at trendwatcher Lidewij Edelkoort (Kriekaard) and architectural background (Maatman), the two set off to establish bearandbunny in 2002.
