Based in Queensland, Australia, Coop Creative is specialized in residential and commercial interiors. Run by Rowena Cornwell, interior designer and owner, and Katherina Sparti, interior designer, they focus on developing customized projects as they use a judgement free approach according to the clients ideas and guidelines, creating projects with high level of detail.
Their projects are usually wide range refurbishments because they tend to see the project as a hole, working on everything from wall layout to the furniture’s decoration. For instance, if they cannot find their vision for a given piece of furniture they will build it, so that everything works as they set out to.
Despite taking the clients vision into their project, Coop Creative is also trend oriented, always emphasising the current trends contrasting with the project’s needs. A good example for this is the Mark residence project, where we can witness a clean design, with a contemporary vision shown by a set of geometric and straight lines, in all divisions. In the master bedroom they tend to use organic wall paper.
For their customized furniture pieces, Coop Creative is keen on using a different set of wood derived materials with a strong 1960’s inspiration, that being one of the main reasons for the awards given to them, like the Queensland Building Awards for the Best Commercial Interior with the Spicers Balfour Hotel project.
