This year, the event will take place from 5-9 December 2018 in Miami and seeks to celebrate design culture and commerce. We will display a series of features you can enjoy inside the event as well as outside, from exhibitors to luxury hotels, restaurants, interior design showrooms, and plenty other thrilling spaces and attractions!
The unique galleries that are invited to Design Miami/ are experts in producing or showcasing exceptional design objects that can be traced back from 18th- and 19th-century antiques to objects from the Modernist era to contemporary creations. Below, you can find some of the most innovative galleries that will be present in this year’s edition.
One of the top showcases of this year is Carpenters Workshop Gallery. With spaces in London, New York, and Paris, transcends classical borders of art and design, offering a precise symbiosis at the intersection of these two universes.
Other example is Friedman Benda, a gallery that is dedicated to presenting established and emerging designers who create historically significant work and are at the forefront of their practice.
Another highlight was The Future Perfect, a gallery that was founded by David Alhadeff in 2003 as a platform for distinguished and emerging contemporary designers. The Gallery has also been a pioneer in introducing international designers to the American audience.
Miami is home to some of the world’s most fascinating design showrooms and stores located in the city’s exceptional design district. Below, you can find a few that are definitely worthy of a visit, so be prepared to be inspired! One of them is the Armani / Casa showroom. Featuring the stunning home furnishing collection by Giorgio Armani, this spectacular showroom gives you the complete concept of an Armani lifestyle. The Kartel showroom is actually the company’s largest to date. The Italian design brand is known for their use of plastics and dynamic color palettes as well as producing exquisite furnishings for the home, office and hospitality.
