Born and raised in New York City, Joe Nahem graduated from Parsons School of Design in New York and Paris where he studied under celebrated designers such as Joe D’Urso and John Saladino. Together with his late partner, Tom Fox, he founded Fox-Nahem. Their fresh and creative work was immediately recognized by The New York Times with a full-page cover story in the Home section featuring the renovation and decoration of a New York residence.
Fox-Nahem have worked with or on buildings by such renowned architects as Stanford White, Richard Meier, Robert Stern, Paul Rudolph and Skidmore Owings & Merrill – the firm’s involvement has ranged from architectural consulting to collaboration as needed.
Fox-Nahem’s recent projects include; Park Avenue duplexes, New York City townhouses, a Martha’s Vineyard farm house, Hamptons’ beach houses, New York City lofts, corporate offices and many other residences in the tri-state area, as well as Florida, Pennsylvania, California, Connecticut, and Massachusetts.
The firm’s projects have appeared in numerous books and magazines including Elle Décor, House Beautiful, House & Garden, Architectural Digest, New York Magazine, Interior Design, Hamptons Magazine, Robb Report and several other national and international publications. House Beautiful, Gotham Magazine, Hamptons Magazine Interior Design, New York Magazine and House & Garden have all included Fox-Nahem in their various best Designers’ lists.
