WKDA is a young practice founded in 2007 by Michael Wing C Kwok. The practice’s works range from shop designs to urban-scale interventions, with a focus in architecture. We thrive on the peculiarities offered by the uniqueness of each project and client types.
We offer alternative approaches to satisfying different audiences, programs and contexts. The studio’s work benefits from studying different materials and thought processes from creative fields outside architecture. This approach is stemmed from Michael’s academic background from an art school, working in collaborative environments with multiple disciplines.

WKDA operates as an open design studio, de-emphasizing hierarchical relationships in place for open and critical communications. The companies tries to explore a wide array of solutions for any given problem. Projects are treated as opportunities to test intuitions, with the belief that environmental design can be understood as an art-form involving many.
Creativity, imagination and free-thinking are at the core of WKDA’s belief, and help substantiate their work. WKDA values critical thinking and persistent questioning. Through exchanging ideas with clients, audiences and fellow designers, the company hopes to provoke positive responses through their work. WKDA believes this is necessary in today’s increasingly entrepreneurial, highly creative and competitive design industry.
This is especially pertinent to architecture, urban and interior design, where progressive attitudes and innovative approaches and techniques are intrinsic in pushing the limits. WKDA hope to offer something different and unique, and produce a body of work that can be significant and important.
