CARRER
How did you get involved in the interior design Industry?
Growing up my family owned a construction business. I was exposed to architecture and design at an early age. My Grandpa taught me how to read blueprints. I became infatuated with the idea that drawings can become reality. I began sketching what I wanted my room to look like and rearranging my furniture. When I went on playdates, I would eventually end up consulting with the parents on how their room should be laid out. From those early beginnings, I pursued my passion for interior design at Berkeley College. During that time, I worked in the field to gain on-the-job experience and freelanced until I was able to start my own firm.

Being in love with our work is always the key to achieving better results. Are you in love with this job? What do you love most about being an interior designer?
Running an interior design firm is not for the faint of heart as it’s a constant hustle for the next project. While it’s hard work, it is rewarding and motivates me every day. What I love the most is being able to help others through design. Designing a room not only transforms the space, but it transforms how the client feels. When you change how someone feels, it changes how they show up in the world.
What is your philosophy on design and life?
Design is more than pretty objects in a room. When your home reflects your story, personality, and style, your home evokes unique energy. All of a sudden, those four walls start to feel like an extension of you and your life. With a certification in Design Psychology, I believe our home influences how we feel and those feelings can manifest, whether good or bad. I create intentional interiors that uplift and support the positive feelings and changes people wish to bring forth.

INSPIRATION
Keeping up to date on all the trends is essential for anyone who wants to conquer this market. In what ways do you keep current with new trends?
To stay current, we travel to attend industry trade shows to scout what’s new. We also have the opportunity to touch and test the furnishings before sharing them with our clients. We also follow fashion trends as often textile trends hit the runway before they transition into the home.

PROJECTS
How important is a perfect chemistry between you and your clients to achieve the best results?
I am a big believer in “energy” and will only take on projects that feel good. Having chemistry with our clients is essential for achieving the best results with satisfied customers. Being able to interpret our client’s vision and communicate efficiently is what makes the entire project sing. When there is a strong synergy, that momentum follows through the project from concept to installation.
FUTURE
What has been your greatest accomplishment as a designer? What goals do you have for the future?
As a Design Influencer, I have had the opportunity to collaborate with some of my favorite brands on exciting projects or events. My greatest accomplishment is being selected as the Home Goods Brand Ambassador. I had the opportunity to decorate three rooms with full creative control and push design boundaries. It was so fun to create three unique spaces filled with color and patterns. It also allowed me to showcase my creativity and share what is possible with clients.
