“I work mainly in London but also have commissions in Paris, Alps and Caribbean – anywhere a client has a property we will work. It often occurs that one project is completed successfully and then we move on to do additional properties – you are only as good as your last job is our motto. Striving for excellence on every project – from large too small and nothing is too much trouble. Working abroad is always more challenging and needs to be organised well in advance so that time spent on site can be used to the best advantage. I travelled recently to China with the London Chamber of Commerce to promote Juliette Byrne Ltd and interior design in the Far East. I have also recently presented Awards at the International Property Awards in Shanghai. There is great opportunities abroad as the British Style is greatly admired by many.”

 Funny Facts about Juliette Byrne

“The designer Christian Liegre is inspiring to me due to his elegant but simple designs using the best quality materials. Obviously budget has to be there as well as his furniture and lighting is quite pricey! I try and use key pieces to enhance the schemes and they add an elegance and luxury to any interior. The colour palette that they tend to use in their showroom is muted and emphasis is given to the textures and finishes rather than anything that may date with time. We work on Projects in the Caribbean and well as in the Mountains for clients and Christan Liegre furniture and lighting work in both settings very well”

“I also admire the fabrics supplied by Abbott and Boyd at Chelsea Harbour. They represent many suppliers from Europe and beyond and always seem to have the latest collections just right. From rough linens to grass paper effect wallpapers you always find what you are looking for and the staff are very helpful and offer advice when you are searching for just the right scheme.”

“I was to study Law but decided at the 11th hour to become an interior designer. Now I work for lawyers often doing their houses up, so it has all come a full circle after all. The Law I studied did however give me a thorough grounding for running my own business, which I have had for over 25 years. Being creative is a real must for Interior Designers but you also have to make sure that the client’s money is well looked after and that they get an efficiently run job as well as looking wonderful!”
