1508 LONDON is a London based interior design studio that creates exceptional residences and interior spaces. The studio represents a truly holistic approach to interior architecture. AB Concept

Since its launch in 1999, AB Concept has earned a reputation as the design firm of choice for the leading hoteliers, luxury developers, and premium restaurant operators. It is led by founders Ed Ng and Terence Ngan. AB Concept is widely regarded as one of the most innovative, integrated and internationally acclaimed design studios in Asia.

Axel Vervoordt

Axel Vervoordt has earned his name as a collector, antiquarian, interior designer and, most recently, as a curator. He counts among his clientele royalty, rock stars, financiers, tech tycoons and artists. Tall and elegant, with a serene smile, this 62-year-old may be one of the world’s foremost tastemakers. Yet he has little interest in “style,” at least as it is currently defined, because essentially, Vervoordt is a metaphysician. He Inquiries into the nature of being and concepts of time and space are what most compel him; he conveys his views through his inspired arrangements of objects and interiors.

 

Andrée Putman

Born in 1925 in a wealthy family of notables from Lyon (founders of the Maynard & Sons Bank and descendants of the Montgolfier) Andrée grew up in the house full of intellectuals. Her artistic education came first through music – her mother Louise Saint-René Taillandier taking her to the concerts and urging to learn piano. After being told that she is never going to be a virtuous pianist Andrée continued music education in composition, eventually giving up hard and full of sacrifices career as a composer.

Alexander Lotersztain

Alexander Lotersztain – an Argentinian born Australian – is the designer and founder of the studio Derlot, a highly awarded studio specialized in product, furniture, interior design, but also in hotel concepts, branding, with a enormous list of clients, like Idee (Japan), Nestle (Switzerland), Virgin Australia Airline (Australia). In 2011 Alexander expanded his studio by founding Derlot Editions to design, manufacture and distribute furniture and lighting to the global contract and domestic markets.

 

Allen Saunders

Award winning, Miami-based design consultants, Allen Saunders, Inc. are true to the marriage of form and function. Designer Allen Saunders and his accomplished design team, create sophisticated interiors. The firm’s unique attention to detail is evident from design concept through project completion. A fusion of cutting-edge design, functionality and individual style, is the formula for success in Saunders’ approach to creating a striking living and working environment, evident in the USA company’s 20 year history.

 

Annabelle Seldorf

Selldorf Architects, located at Manhattan’s Union Square, has acquired an international reputation for work that is sensitive to context and program, thoughtful in execution, and timeless. Established by Annabelle Selldorf in 1988, the firm has worked on public and private projects that range from museums and libraries to a recycling facility; and at scales from the construction of new buildings to the restoration of historic interiors and furniture design. Their design approach engages a critical process that eliminates the unnecessary and proposes clear, succinct solutions in which all elements—from broad concept to fine detail—coexist in a carefully considered balance.

 

Bill Bensley

Bill Bensley, was born a stone’s throw from Disneyland in Orange California at a time when orange groves actually thrived mile after mile. Of English parentage, Bensley, a tail end baby boomer, enjoyed his childhood tending the local farms and fruit orchards, as one did in those good days. Bill’s english sister, Ann, remains best friends and often vacation together.

 

Ben van Berkel

Ben van Berkel is a Dutch architect, working with the architectural practice UNStudio. With his studio he designed many outstanding and important buildings in many different places of the globe. His interdisciplinary design team develops urban projects, builds bridges and public buildings all over the world, as well as working on the design of products and media.

 

Benoy

With a global network of 11 strategically located studios and a global reach that stretches to over 60 countries, Benoy is an established design brand in its markets around the world. Despite the diversity of its projects and the sheer extent of its presence, the company is united under its One Benoy Ethos. Project teams are created from an international pool of talent, experience and personality, ensuring that the client is presented with the very best that Benoy has to offer. The culture is one of creativity, collaboration and communication.

 

Bogen Design

Bogen is a company from Switzerland. In the interior design / architecture, Bogen looks more closely with the people apart, which will use the spaces to be planned. For the wellbeing of their clients they relate psychological and social aspects responsibly in the planning. The individual design of the device is an integral part of Bogen’s performance. For each plan, they take into account economic, technical and constructive aspects. In order to create a personalized, distinctive spatial environment, Bogen deals with the spatial proportions and the design elements of colour, light and material.

 

Braulio Baptista

Braulio Baptista is a gifted designer who embodies the intellectual curiosity and talent to sensitively integrate user values and aspirations while creating innovative ideas. For more than a decade at ZGF, he has served as Design Partner and Senior Designer for a broad range of advanced technology and programmatically complex public and institutional buildings. His projects include Bidwell, Sitka, Aspen and Sequoia Houses for Reed College in Portland; Museum Square: Caterpillar International Visitor Center and Peoria Riverfront Museum in Peoria; the Samuel Oschin Air and Space Center at the California Science Center in Los Angeles; Altman Clinical and Translational Research Institute at the University of California, San Diego; and the Superior Court of California, County of Santa Clara, Family Justice Center in San Jose; as well as two net-zero energy buildings—the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation Headquarters in Agoura Hills and the Bolsa Chica Conservancy Centre for Coastal Ecology in Huntington Beach.

 

Brunete Fraccaroli

The renowned architect Brunete Fraccaroli, graduated at the Universidade Mackenzie in Sao Paulo and worldwide known as the colorful architect, is a respected and requestes professional, for both, house and commercial projects. She has projects which may be visited in Milan, Punta del Este, New York, New Orleans and Miami. Her increasing and continuous interest for absolutely all kinds of materials and esthetics limits her time to the extreme, once her daily routine includes walking up early to take care of her projects and constructions personally counting on a great team in her office, to administrate Fraccaroli, essences and fragrance factory inherited from her great-grandfather inherited from her great-grandfather, desires her young daughter.

 

Bunny Williams

Bunny Williams is one of the great interior designers that can be found on this year’s AD100 list. She opened her interior design company in 1988, after over 20 years of working for a decorating studio Parish-Hadley Associates. Bunny has also launched a collection of furniture and accessories known as Bunny Williams Home (including side tables, lamps, chairs, case pieces, upholstery, mirrors, coffee and drinks tables) and since 1991 co-owns a garden furniture and ornament shop in New York, with antiques dealer John Rosselli, extending her love of design to beyond the interiors.

 

Campana Brothers

The Campana Brothers (Humberto Campana and Fernando Campana) are Brazilian designers. In 1983, the two brothers teamed up to make furniture made of ordinary materials including scrap and waste products such as cardboard, rope, cloth and wood scraps, plastic tubes and aluminium wire. From 1997, some of their products including the Vermelha chair began to be produced and sold in Italy. In 1998 the Campana Brothers became the first Brazilian artists to exhibit their work at The Museum of Modern Art in New York, along with German lighting designer Ingo Maurer. The Campana Brothers are represented by Friedman Benda in New York, Carpenters Workshop Gallery in London and Paris, as well as Galleria O in Rome.

 

Christian Liaigre

Christian Liaigre was born in La Rochelle, France in 1943. He studied at the Paris Academy of Fine and Decorative Arts and taught drawing at the Academy Charpentier. After spending 10 years as a horse breeder he decided to open a studio in 1987, focusing on interior architecture and furniture design. His first project to win acclaim was the refurbishment of the Hotel Montalembert in Paris in 1988. Generally speaking, the designer is known due to the fact that he designed private residences for such notables as Calvin Klein, Karl Lagerfeld, Rupert Murdoch and Bryan Adams.

 

Charles Zana

For twenty years from Paris to London, via Gstaad, Tel Aviv and Monaco, Charles Zana has shared his taste and expertise in the most beautiful residential and public interiors around the world. In two decades the architect, a graduate of the Beaux-Arts de Paris, has found his voice, forging his style and axes of influence, on the lookout for discerning clients demanding a unique vision. This vision is above all that of a lover of art, passionate about design, who speaks like an extract from key teachings. Charles Zana demonstrates an inexhaustible eloquence when asked to talk about a gallerist’s latest exhibition or the great masters of Italian design, from Andrea Branzi to Ettore Sottsass, not forgetting Enzo Mari.

 

Carrier and Company

Carrier and Company Interiors Ltd. principals, Jesse Carrier and Mara Miller, are a husband and wife design duo with a combined total of 30 years’ experience working with New York’s premier design firms before opening their own in 2005. Using a confident mix of history, contemporary design, comfort and grace the designer couple is able to achieve interiors that are chic and timeless — both familiar and fresh at once. A truly personalized interior takes shape when client’s collections, artwork, heirlooms, taste and personality are incorporated into the design.

 

Cheryl Torrenueva

Cheryl Torrenueva is a Canadian designer, best known as a personality on television shows produced by HGTV Canada. A graduate of Ryerson University, Torrenueva started in television as a contestant on Designer Superstar Challenge. Although she did not win, she was offered the opportunity to become a guest designer on Home to Go, and has since appeared on Rooms That Rock, Restaurant Makeover, Restaurant Impossible and Colin and Justin’s Home Heist.
